Personal History
Growing up in the magical mountains of central Pennsylvania, Ann Marie
Wishard befriended the indigenous flora she encountered living around
her home. She began cultivating and growing these special plants and
eventually, through research and experimentation, discovered that her
leafy companions nurture the soul and heal the body.
Company History
Over 30 years ago, in 1976, Ann Marie opened Sweet Annie Herbs, Inc. to
share the healing experience with others. Like her gardens, the company
rooted, sprouted and grew. To date, she has formulated over 50 herbal
and nutritional combinations to address a variety of health issues.
Lectures and Appearances
Due to her natural charisma, knowledge and hands-on experience, Ann
Marie’s popularity as a lecturer expands continually. She regularly
speaks at Penn State University, local hospitals, colleges and other
learning-centered organizations. Hundreds of radio stations,
newspapers and magazines across the U.S. and Canada request interviews
with this charming, perceptive natural healer. In fact, nationally
recognized television programs such as the Montell William’s Show,
Sally Jessie, and CBNC “Alive and Wellness” have enjoyed Ann Marie’s
guest appearances.
Her style, eloquent and inspirational, maintains a tone of intimacy and
simplicity in her lectures, talk radio interviews and her writing.
Books
A prolific author, Ann Marie published a book entitled Herb Talk: The
Book that Grows in 1994. Inspired by the issues raised by thousands of
radio listener calls, this book provides an invaluable reference for
those interested in health maintenance and improvement. It offers
informative discussion of proven herbal and nutritional alternatives to
hundreds of today’s health problems. It contains sensible, effective
counsel from a sensible, effective healer.
A New Attitude – a Journal of Health and Life for Women discusses not
only medical issues, but personal life experiences many women share.
It includes contributions from local women, as well as Wishard's own
discussions.
The next book, Healing Herbs of Hearth and Home, published by Running Press, first appeared on bookshelves in May, 2004.
Awards
In addition to Ann Marie’s national recognition, Huntingdon County,
where she resides, presented her with the 2003 Athena Award for
outstanding women in business.
